It’s almost that time of year again to dust down the costumes, get the monkey nuts out and ready the apples for dooking. Yep, Halloween is coming and it looks like the pubs in Renfrewshire are making sure there is no shortage of parties and entertainment to celebrate the occasion.
With prizes for the best dressed, games and more on offer, we thought we’d round up where the Halloween parties are taking place this year. If your pub isn’t listed, let us know and we’ll add.

It’s been great to see so many of the Pubs in Renfrewshire doing their bit to raise money for local and national charities, and we’ve been informed of another fantastic evening taking place on 29th September that’s hoping to raise money for Accord Hospice and the Beatson Pebble appeal.
This time is the turn of Paddy Malarkys in Paisley, who are running an Open Mic Night on Thursday 29th September at 8pm. Not only do you get to sing your wee hearts out, it’s also an evening where all proceeds will be going to good causes, split between the 2 charities mentioned.
There will be a raffle on the night with some pretty impressive prizes. Prize donations are still being accepted if anyone wants to donate, but so far the prize list includes:
– Signed Football boots from St Mirrens Kenny Mclean
– Signed Celtic shirt from this seasons players
We’ll keep you updated on other prizes as Paddy Malarkys let us know.
As usual, we encourage you to get along and support the event, to raise as much as possible for both the Accord Hopsice and the Beatson Pebble Appeal.
Previous charity nights in Renfrewshires Pubs have included the charity auction in aid of the Mary Russell School, held by the Crown Bar, and the Hollywood Charity night held at the Wee Howff in aid of Cancer Research UK and Prostate Scotland.
Those of you who’ve used the Renfrewshire Pubs website in the past will have noticed some pretty big changes to the look of it in recent weeks. The Pubs project started off as a fairly small idea aimed at hopefully helping raise awareness of some of the many events taking place across pubs and bars in Renfrewshire.
However, it quickly grew to a point where we had over 300 Facebook fans and a significant amount of traffic on the site from people searching Google for information on various pubs. So, we decided to give the site and project a proper identity, hopefully encouraging more of those visitors to find out more about the pubs and, ultimately, go along to some of the many events that are on.
So, thanks to all those who follow and use the site so far!
You’ll notice we now have an “Upcoming Events” displayed across all pages of the site. We intend populating this with everything from weekly karaoke nights to live music acts and random one off events, so if you know of something not listed, let us know (email@example.com).
A Pretty Big Boxing Match
Whether you’re a fan of boxing or not, there is no getting away from the hype surrounding this weekends David Haye V Wladimir Klitschko fight. We appreciate not everyone will want to watch it, but we have heard there are some pubs showing it across Renfrewshire. If you go along, enjoy! So far we know of The Bankhouse, The Craig Dhu and Paddy Malarkys in Paisley, along with The Viscount in Renfrew.
A Barbeoke ?!?
We’re assuming that this event is as the name suggests … a mixture between Barbeque and Karaoke. Sounds like a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon! We caught a mention of it on the Facebook page of The Bankhouse earlier. It sounds like good fun, so please send in some photos if you go along – we’ll upload to Facebook and you can tag yourself!
Continuing on our stride to add all Renfrewshire based Pubs, Bars and Inns to the newly launched Renfrewshire Pubs website, we can now another 7 additions, taking the total number of pubs listed to almost 70!
New additions today include:
Paddy Malarkys, Paisley
Abbey Inn, Paisley
The Court Bar, Paisley
The Croft Bar, Paisley
Kilty Kilty, Paisley
Wig and Pen, Paisley
New County Bar, Johnstone
As always, we’re looking to add all Pubs in Renfrewshire to the website. If you can think of any not already list, or know of news, Facebook pages, offers, or events that we’ve not listed for your local pub, bar or Inn, please contact us and lets us know.
